breathe in, breathe out

Sometimes I have to take a deep breath and put on my big girl panties.

My germaphobe OCD has to get put on the back burner or it will take over.

I hate public pools, HATE THEM. I cannot bring myself to get in to a puddle of water with strangers who, as far as I am concerned, are peeing in the water! They also might not have had a bath or shower in days and could have open sores etc etc. It is all too gross and nasty for my head.

That said, I ask you refer to the first line of this post.

We have a really picturesque and rather fun public pool not to far way. It is filled and emptied each day from an aquifer. It is the county's largest fresh water pool. A whole other reason for me to freak the heck out....no chlorine. WAH!

That said I ask you to refer to the first line of this post.

BUT Rosie has never been and it is a really lovely and tranquil setting. Inside the pool itself are caves and grotto's that you can swim in to. There is a stunning waterfall that you can swim to and through and once through it can sit on a ledge the other side of it. This is all well until some person touches you. Seriously....! There are smaller waterfall and rock pools cut into the quarry where you can sit and take in the scene, and feel someones hair catch on your fingers. Insert silent scream.

That said I ask you to refer to the first line of this post.

Stunning, I mean for a public swimming pool

Look at those crazy kids in a pool with strangers and their hygiene.

Look at the cave on the right,

ditto

so many germs  people

Little fish don't mind strangers in their water

my gorgeous girly girl

it really is pretty

bathing beauties.

And I ask you to refer to the first line of this post BECAUSE I swam too. I really did, in that nasty water with all those strangers that have probably never had a bath before EVER. I sucked it up for quite a while, swimming in and out of caves, under the waterfall, across the pool countless times. And then I went home and showered in really HOT water for a long time with a tonne of shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. For the rest of the night I imagined monsters of the deep, touching my skin. WAH.

  2. OMG, you have some serious issues!!! Hahahaha!! Never even thought of the things you posted herein; maybe I have faith that other people bathe. A little trust, Dawn!!! BTW, I took swimming lessons at this pool when I was a kid (and we know that was many, many years ago). Loved it, but the water was always so cold! Glad you swam with the girls. Way to take one for the team!!

BTW, when I first started reading this, I thought it was going to be something about your nursing school classes (not a public pool Lord forbid). With such a germ phobia, how are you ever going to be a nurse?!? LOL!! Freaking you out now, aren't I!! :)

  3. LOL! I'm the same way! I get grossed out so easily. I swim in my neighborhood pools, but germs are always in the back of my mind!

My mom used to swim at that pool as a kid. It really is a pretty place!
