being noticed

Lily has always been an excellent student. It is just the way she is, she pushes herself hard and isn't happy unless she is challenged. As each school year begins and the teachers explain that they expect a lot from their students Lily, in return, expects a lot from them. She's quirky that way. Most of the teachers in her school realise this about her and the ones that are any good want her as their student. The ones that don't like it, don't like her.

Today her efforts were recognised and she brought home a letter:

I am incredibly proud of her.

At first she wasn't sure if she wanted to go through with it as she wasn't sure if she would be able to give it 100% as she will not miss swimming and will not fall behind on her work. I suggested she give it a shot and if it is too much she can step down. I know that she has to give 100% in all she does and with, studying, swimming. volunteering, and now this, it's a lot. But, I also know she can do it.

Way to go kidlet, keep it up.

  3. Well done, Lily. For those of us who are less intelligent (and English), what does it involve?

  4. Congratulations Lily! I was a member of the National Honor Society, (and it looked good on my college scholarship applications!). I know you can handle it, kudos to you on being recognized and admitted!
